From Syria to Afghanistan to Ukraine, crises continue to force people to flee their homes - and when this disrupts their education, they can find it extremely difficult to return to school as a refugee.
Elevate's life-changing global program provides a path for women and girls to continue to learn and secure employment on graduation. We work with university and corporate partners who are committed to making a difference.
Grants
Project SHEro is a global climate activism documentary series that showcases brave young women who are fighting to save their livelihoods or inspire change. Many of these young women and millions like them risk being forced from their land and becoming climate refugees. What makes this series so unique is that solutions to their challenges are offered. In each episode, Lorna brings in experts to revive traditional local knowledge, introduce cutting-edge technology, or both - giving the SHEro a life-changing opportunity to take her work to the next level. Our SHEro’s are given a grant from Elevate so they can afford additional studies or use it as seed funding for her endeavor.
Through our SHEroes we will explore issues including reducing emissions, food and water security, food deserts, gender equity, human rights, international food systems, indigenous rights, the refugee crisis, migration, discrimination towards indigenous groups, rights for bonded laborers, access to finance for women, government regulation with middlemen, financial literacy and much more. Project SHEro weaves inspiring human stories with hard science to create both entertainment and a sense of hope, helping to solve climate change one life at a time.
